Our Commitment to Environment, Conservation, Wilderness Protection

Neil Hartling owner of NRA and CRE is currently an active supporter and advocate for environmental and conservation efforts in northern Canada. For example, he is working on the community project to expand the boundaries of Nahanni National Park to include the entire Nahanni River watershed (Nahanni National Park Expansion Campaign ). Recently we have petitioned the Auditor General of Canada to answer a specific set of questions and turnover documents related to the Nahanni National Park expansion and conservation threats from the Prairie Creek Mine. Neil was involved in the successful campaign to establish Alsek Tatshenshini Provincial Park in the early ‘90’s.

We are constantly inventing and refining on an ongoing basis NRA and CRE experiment with Leave No Trace camping practices. We are in industry leader in this and often create best practices which others have adopted for example among the first to use fireboxes on the rivers on which we operate, designed backcountry firebox. We were among the first to begin carrying out solid human waste of Alsek Tatshenshini watershed.

NRA and CRE follow the Code of Conduct from WTAY, the Wilderness Tourism Association of the Yukon.
